Moriches is a hamlet on Long Island with a total area of over two square miles. It is home to a population of more than 2,800 residents. At Moriches, children attend schools that are part of the William Floyd School District. Founded in 1919, the Jurgielewicz Duck Farm is one of the hamlet’s most famous landmarks and businesses. It was once the country’s largest free-range duck operation. However, it was closed down in 2011.
