2019 INFINITI QX50 vs. 2019 Jeep Gladiator | Competition INFINITI of Smithtown

2019 INFINITI QX50 vs. 2019 Jeep Gladiator

The 2019 Jeep Gladiator has caused excitement among enthusiasts due to its enhanced engine, updated cabin equipment and recognizable shape which is reminiscent of the beloved Wrangler. But how does it compare to the 2019 INFINITI QX50, an SUV which has received acclaim for its external and internal beauty, its state of the art engine and quiet yet refined and comfortable interior?

Design & Style

The QX50 has a roomy cabin where surfaces are covered in the stitched dash. The seats offer outstanding support and can be adjusted multiple ways, and can be heated and cool as needed so they are comfortable in hot or cold weather. The seats in the rear allow passengers to stretch out their legs, and the noise cancellation offered through Bose means outside noises will not disturb them. Stylistically, the Jeep Gladiator is much more rugged by comparison, as it is designed to carry heavy loads and perform off-road driving. A gridded grille can be seen in front, with lights that are rounded with a metallic covering below. Inside, drivers will be treated to a large touch screen and dashboard with mirrors that provide heating during cold weather and infotainment that is cutting edge.

Technology & Safety

The Jeep Gladiator has an elevated position due to its large tires, with a rear-end that is flat. This gives it increased safety and maneuverability when operating in urban, suburban, or rugged terrain. It can seat a maximum of five and has a four-wheel ABS brake system. The INFINITI QX50 is packed with all sorts of safety features to prevent crashes before they occur, including a camera for the rearview, frontal impact warnings, emergency automatic brakes and blind area monitoring. Inside, passengers will be treated to touchscreens which are eight inches in size, keyless ignition, leather seats that can be power adjusted, and climate control which is dual-zone.

The QX50 offers superb performance. While the Jeep Gladiator is outstanding off-road, the INFINITI comes with a turbo 4 engine that can produce 268 horsepower. The Jeep Gladiator is equipped with an Eco Diesel, a 3-liter engine that can produce 260 horsepower with 442 pounds of torque. Both vehicles can be upgraded to stronger engines if necessary.

The Bottom Line

While the Jeep Gladiator and INFINITI QX50 use opposite design approaches, both are essentially tied when it comes to base performance. The biggest weakness of the Gladiator, however, is its lack of standard features compared to the QX50, and since it does not offer the same amount of creature comforts, the INFINITI is the winner.
