2019 INFINITI Q50 vs. 2019 Buick Cascada | Competition INFINITI of Smithtown

2019 INFINITI Q50 vs. 2019 Buick Cascada

The 2019 Buick Cascada has a lot going for it, including an attractive exterior, array of standardized features, relaxing cabin and a convertible top which opens. How does it compare to the 2019 INFINITI Q50, a model that has been refreshed and updated with an impressive cabin and hybrid efficiency?

Design & Style

A number of key changes have been made to the newest Q50, including brand new rear and front bumpers, cabin refinements, and trim which has been enhanced. The fascias in the front and back are quite impressive, as are the new ambient lighting and instrument cluster. The most eye catching thing about the Cascada is its exterior, which opts for a European look. Inside, it has an assortment of buttons on the stack in the center, which can be overwhelming at first, but the interior is covered by leather that is attractive due to its well thought out perforations.

Technology & Safety

Although the Buick Cascada has received excellent safety scores, it has been criticized for not having emergency automatic brakes. It is equipped with 6 airbags and frontal impact warnings. Inside, passengers can expect perks such as touchscreens with 7 inches, navigational systems, leather upholstery and front seats which can be heated and power adjusted. The roof folds inside the trunk, transforming the vehicle into a convertible. The Q50 is well equipped with numerous safety features such as blind area monitoring, cruise control which is adaptive, notifications when departing lanes and emergency automatic brakes. It also has a distinct feature called Distance Control Assist, which automatically keeps the vehicle safely away from nearby drivers. Interior amenities include climate control which is dual zone, an audio system with six speakers, satellite radio and touchscreens with 7 inches.

The INFINITI Q50 comes with outstanding engine options. In fact, its standard 2 liter engine has been able to outpace rivals such as Audi and BMW with its 208 horsepower with 258 pound of torque. Those who upgrade to the V6 or Red Sport will get even more power. The Buick Cascada places greater priority on comfort as opposed to power. As such, it comes with a turbo 4, 1.6 liter engine that can produce up to 200 horsepower with 221 pound of torque.

The Bottom Line

Both of these vehicles are impressive in their own way and similar in price. However, not having emergency automatic brakes is a major issue for the Cascada, as is its excessive weight, cluttered interior and lack of fuel efficiency, so the INFINITI Q50 wins.
